DME Technician - Anderson, South Carolina

Our Mission:

Palmetto Seating and Mobility is dedicated to helping all individuals with disabilities be as independent as possible while improving their quality of life by providing premium supplies, durable equipment, and exceptional service.

About the Job:

By joining Palmetto Seating and Mobility, you will be a part of one of South Carolina’s leading providers of durable medical equipment and supplies. Palmetto Seating and Mobility serves the special needs community by supplying them with individually configured and custom mobility products.  You would be helping us on our mission to improve the lives of people with disabilities by enabling them to actively participate in everyday life.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assembling, delivering, and setting up medical equipment to the patient’s home or therapy facility in a professional, safe, and timely manner
  • Providing product training with patients and caretaker staff utilizing manufacturers recommendations
  • Educating customers in the proper use of the medical equipment
  • Responding to and assisting patients with service calls and repair requests as needed in the office and in the field
  • Demonstrating our values of compassionate care, operational excellence, teamwork and accountability 
  • Ensuring complete and accurate documentation in of medical records
  • Driving to various locations in and around the Charleston area
  • Adhering to HIPAA and never share any patient information with people outside our organization
  • Performing any other duties as assigned by manager

Required Qualifications, Skills, And Experience

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent combination of experience and education
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal are a MUST
  • Be able to lift at least 75 lbs

Preferred Competencies and Qualifications: 

  • Mechanically inclined
  • Prior experience or background working in the durable medical equipment industry, medical terminology, and/or medical equipment preferred but required
  • Strong listening, organization, and priority setting skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and juggle multiple priorities
  • Ability to think quickly, assess a situation and make a sound decision
  • Ability and willingness to provide great customer service
  • Demonstration of exceptional interpersonal and problem-solving skills both internally and externally with customers
  • Willingness to learn equipment products 
  • Compassion for special needs kids and families
  • Experience in Microsoft Office Suite and GSuite
  • High degree of attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks
  • Ability to follow directions and complete tasks in a timely manner
  • Customer service experience highly preferred
